A Fourth Meeting of the Community of Democracies is to be held in New York in September 2010. The ICDT has been actively involved in the work of the CoD, an intergovernmental organization that dedicates itself to the strengthening of the relationship amongst the countries that have democratic regimes and democratic political systems.

On the occasion of Hungary’s National Day on 20 August, in an official remark U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acknowledged the work of the International Centre for Democratic Transition as an important partner in advancing democracy.

The ICDT in cooperation with the Corvinus Society for Foreign Affairs and Culture (CKKE) took part in a one week-long event, titled the Sziget Festival, Hungary’s largest music and cultural festival held on the Óbudai-Island in Budapest between 9 and 15 August 2010.

The Summer Seminar for Young Leaders of the Western Balkans was held between 26 July and 6 August, 2010 in Hungary, bringing together and giving a platform to facilitate dialogue between 25 participants from Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia.
