Project Manager

The International Centre for Democratic Transition is looking for a Project Assistant for the project “Transferring the Experiences of the Visegrád Cooperation to the Western Balkans and the GUAM Countries” (2 years) with the following qualifications:

-at least 3 years of education in international relations or related field(s), currently enrolled; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
-fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking);
-an intermediate level knowledge of Russian is a minimum, advanced to working level is strongly preferred;
-strong work ethic and attention to detail is a must;
-experience in organizing conferences, workshops, or other professional events preferred;
-experience in proofreading and editing is an asset.

This is a contracted, paid position with a 20 hour weekly workload, other conditions to be negotiated personally with applicant(s) selected for an interview. To apply, please send your CV to k.kiss@icdt.hu before October 1.

The general objective of the project is to strengthen the basis of democracy, partnership and regional cooperation in the regions situated at the external border of the EU. The special goal is to transfer the experiences of the Visegrad cooperation towards the Western Balkans and the GUAM countries and thus to endorse their cooperation in order to achieve their common goals and resolve their common problems. The target groups of the project are governmental institutions involved in cooperation and their representatives, NGOs, economic chambers and economic actors, representatives of the media and political decision-makers from the target regions, as well as international institutions and organizations, Member States of the EU, pre-accession countries and states that are part of the Schengen Agreement and the European Economic Area. The main activities of the project focus on preparing the activities of the project, assuring the professional background of the project, organization of 4 regional workshops, as well as that of a preparatory meeting and a final conference.
