In 2003, Thomas Rooney (47) became President and Chief Executive Officer of Insituform Technologies, Inc., the largest company in the world for repairing oil, water and sewer pipes.
Since then, sales have gone from $487 million to $600 million, and net income has increased from $3.5 million to $24 million.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University in 1982 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago in 1991.
Prior to joining Insituform, Tom worked for Turner Construction Co., Centex Corporation, and Gilbane Building Company, three of the largest construction management firms in the United States.
Tom and his wife, Marilyn, currently reside in St. Louis, Missouri. They have four children: Katie, Tommy, Patrick and Meghan.
